How to Apply
- Submit Application: Applications open in September and close at the end of May. As places are limited, we highly recommend submitting your application before the end of January to best secure your child’s place.
- Pay Application Fee: This fee is non-refundable and can be paid securely by credit card.
- Upload Documentation: Provide all required documents and credentials as listed on your checklist.
- Await Contact: Our Admissions team will review your file and contact you regarding the next steps.
- Schedule Assessment: Arrange a suitable date for your child's assessment and interview.
Assessments & Interviews
The purpose of our assessment is not to exclude candidates, but to determine whether they require additional learning support and to ensure we can meet their individual needs adequately.
The evaluation consists of five core components:
- Oral Interview
- Non-verbal Reasoning Test
- English Language Test
- Mathematics Test
- Writing Challenge
Admissions Decisions & Notification
Following the assessment and interview, the Admissions Committee will thoroughly review all application materials to make a holistic decision regarding acceptance.
- Delivery: Results will be officially sent via email.
- Timeline: Notifications are typically issued between February to May.
- Early Admission: Exceptional candidates will receive their offer letters before Christmas of the preceding year.
- Finality: All decisions are final, and we respectfully decline to enter into further discussion regarding individual applications.
Registration
Please pay the one-time Registration Fee to accept our offer of a place. Once your payment is received, we will launch the enrollment process. This covers uniform and equipment purchasing, visa arrangements (if required), and all other administrative steps to ensure your child is fully prepared for their first day.
Entry Year Group Policy
Placement into the appropriate Year Group is determined based on the applicant's age, current academic grade, academic ability, maturity, and assessment performance.
Academic Continuity: Aside from the age requirement, applicants must have successfully completed a full academic year immediately prior to the Year Group they wish to enter.
Readiness Review: Gordonstoun Japan reserves the right to review a pupil’s academic, social, and emotional readiness at any time to ensure the most appropriate placement.
