Gordonstoun Japan is established under a formal, strategic alliance with the original Gordonstoun in Scotland. Far more than a franchise, this is a true sister school, operating with shared curricula, pupil exchange programmes, and the exact same educational standards that have defined the Scottish campus for decades.
This historic endeavour is powered by School Corporation OCC (Osaka Christian College). With a prestigious history of over 120 years in educational leadership in Japan, OCC provides the robust institutional framework, deep knowledge of the Japanese educational landscape, and local governance necessary to run a world-class institution.Together, Gordonstoun and OCC are building a school that is globally accredited, locally grounded, and fully equipped to educate the global leaders of tomorrow.

Masakuni Negishi, Chairman of OCC, is driven by a vision to redefine 21st-century education. Rooted in the belief that "there is more in you than you think", Gordonstoun Japan goes beyond exams to forge character through real-world challenges.
By combining Gordonstoun's heritage of resilience and service with the spirit of Japan and educational technology, he aims to create a new global standard where character, action, and purpose matter as much as academic success.

Natasha Dangerfield
Founding Principal, Gordonstoun Japan
Natasha Dangerfield qualified as a teacher over 30 years ago and has remained a dedicated educationalist ever since. Her career includes a foundational seven year tenure at Gordonstoun in Scotland, where she embraced Kurt Hahn’s holistic approach to developing the whole child; a philosophy that remains at the heart of her leadership.
Here in Wakayama, Natasha will combine clarity and empathy with a mission to create a "school for the future." She is dedicated to fostering innovation and human connection, preparing students not just for exams, but for the complexities of modern life. Her intention is to ensure every student is supported to understand that more is always possible, in and out of the classroom and that students graduate as a resilient and impactful learners ready to lead on a global stage.
Linda Cruse
Founding Fellow, Gordonstoun Japan
Linda Cruse brings Gordonstoun Japan a truly unique global perspective shaped by 26 years as a frontline humanitarian. Her work has spanned all seven continents, from the Arctic to the Amazon, where she developed an international reputation for action - led leadership in the world's most challenging environments, including conflict zones and disaster recovery sites, and most recently, Nepal.
As a Senior Fellow of Canterbury, Christchurch and Founder of Race4Good®, Linda is a pioneer in character based leadership. Her distinctive model focuses on "courageous leadership" through authentic impact, where students engage directly with real - world problems to ensure no part of their learning is hypothetical.
